Job Summary:

Enjoy a no-call, partially remote adult psychiatry opportunity in one of the Twin Cities’ most desirable southwest suburbs. Allina Health is seeking a 1.0 FTE Adult Psychiatrist for a hybrid role in Chaska, Minnesota, combining outpatient clinic with partial hospital psychiatry.

This position offers a blend of practice variety and lifestyle: 0.3 FTE following approximately 8 adult patients in PHP and 0.7 FTE in the outpatient clinic, allowing you to balance structured, team-based care with longitudinal ambulatory psychiatry. For physicians seeking a no-call schedule, strong clinical collaboration, and a community that offers both convenience and quality of life, this role stands out.

Chaska is known for its small-town feel, friendly atmosphere, and high quality of life, while still offering convenient access to the greater Twin Cities metro. The community also offers extensive outdoor amenities, including more than 100 miles of trails and 578 acres of city-owned parks, making it an attractive place to live and work.

Allina Health provides a broad continuum of mental health and addiction services, including partial hospitalization, outpatient care, specialty programs, and integrated behavioral health services.

Key Position Details:

  • Position: Adult Psychiatrist
  • Practice Model: Hospital-based clinic and partial hospital hybrid psychiatry role
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday daytime hours, no weekends or call
  • Patient Population: Adult psychiatry
  • Clinical Split:
    • 0.3 FTE in Partial Hospitalization Program
    • 0.7 FTE in Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic
  • PHP Panel: Follow approximately 8 adult patients
  • Setting Highlights: Clinical variety, interdisciplinary support, continuity of care, and a highly desirable southwest metro location

Job Description:

This is an excellent opportunity for an adult psychiatrist who wants more than a traditional clinic-only model. In this role, you will practice across two meaningful levels of care—supporting patients in a partial hospitalization program while also building continuity in the outpatient setting.

This combination offers the chance to stay engaged in higher-acuity, team-based psychiatric care while also developing longer-term therapeutic relationships.

For many physicians, one of the most attractive features of this opportunity is the no-call schedule. It is well suited for a psychiatrist seeking strong professional fulfillment alongside greater predictability and work-life balance.

Allina Health is a nonprofit health system serving communities throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin, with 12 hospital campuses, 60+ primary care clinics, and more than 100 specialty care sites. Within mental health and addiction care, Allina offers a broad range of services designed to support patients across levels of need, from outpatient care to specialty and intermediate programming such as PHP.

This position is especially appealing to psychiatrists seeking:

  • A no-call psychiatry role
  • A balanced blend of PHP and outpatient practice
  • Team support including nurses, therapists, social workers and operations support
  • Practice in a community with trails, parks, recreation, and southwest metro convenience
  • The opportunity to join a mission-driven health system with broad behavioral health resources

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide adult psychiatric care in a hospital-based hybrid practice model
  • Provide psychiatric assessment, treatment planning, medication management, and ongoing follow-up for PHP patients
  • Deliver outpatient psychiatric care in a continuity-based clinic setting
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members across behavioral health settings
  • Support effective care transitions across levels of service, as clinically appropriate
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation
  • Contribute to high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care delivery
