About the Department
Join the team at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, a unique healthcare environment set on 80 tranquil acres in one of Oakland County's most desirable communities. Our hospital blends clinical excellence with a wellness-first approach, featuring amenities like ponds, a greenhouse, walking trails, and a demonstration kitchen. The Surgical Reprocessing department plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care by providing sterile, ready-to-use surgical instruments and supplies to support our inpatient, outpatient, and surgical teams across various departments, including the Operating Room, Emergency Room, and Delivery Room.
Role Overview
As a Surgical Reprocessing Tech, you will be responsible for cleaning, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and supplies to support physicians and surgical teams. Your work ensures that all equipment is safe, sterile, and ready for use, directly impacting patient care and surgical outcomes. This role is vital to maintaining the efficiency and safety of our surgical procedures.

What You Will Do
- Clean, inspect, assemble, and package surgical instruments and supplies for sterilization.
- Monitor and document sterilization processes, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Supply and anticipate instrumentation needs for pending surgical cases.
- Receive, unpack, and stock supplies, maintaining appropriate par levels.
- Coordinate with surgical teams to prepare case carts according to surgeon preference cards.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Central Service Certification.
- Completion of a 120-day orientation, including department and hospital processes.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and hospital personnel.
- Computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a medical terminology course.
- BCLS certification.
Additional Information
Full Time - Midnight Shift - 40 hours/week
*Eligible for sign-on bonus of $5,000
