Marketing Analytics is a strategic partner to Target's Marketing organization, delivering trusted insights that influence enterprise decisions and create meaningful guest experiences. The Loyalty Analytics team sits at the intersection of customer behavior, marketing strategy, personalization, and business performance. We partner with Loyalty, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Technology to measure performance, uncover growth opportunities, and shape strategies that strengthen guest engagement and drive profitable growth.

As a Sr Data Analyst, this role is an exciting opportunity for a curious and collaborative analyst who is energized by connecting with stakeholders, simplifying complexity, and shaping strategy through insights. While a foundational understanding of technical tools is expected, the heart of this role lies in storytelling—helping the business understand what’s happening, why it matters, and what we should do next.

You’ll sit at the intersection of data and strategy, serving as a trusted advisor and insight translator across teams. Your analysis won’t just inform; it will inspire decisions that drive the business forward.

Some of what you will do includes:

  • Explore and interpret data to uncover the story behind business performance—what happened, why it matters, and what comes next.
  • Conduct ad hoc and deep-dive analyses that identify new opportunities, answer strategic questions, and support decision-making.
  • Work closely with marketing and other cross-functional partners to understand business needs and translate insight from guest performance data into data-driven strategies.
  • Develop intuitive, action-oriented dashboards and visualizations that highlight key takeaways—not just numbers.
  • Lead storytelling sessions and presentations with key leaders and stakeholders, communicating insights clearly and effectively.
  • Build strong relationships across the business to stay plugged into evolving priorities and ensure analytics stay relevant and impactful.

About you:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years as a Data Analyst with strong academic performance in a quantitative field; or strong equivalent experience; with a demonstrated focus on storytelling, stakeholder communication, and business strategy.
  • Proven ability to distill complex data into clear, persuasive narratives
  • Deep curiosity about guest behavior, business trends, and how data connects the two
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to create dashboards and visually communicate insights
  • Advanced SQL experience writing complex queries
  • Intermediately accomplished with Python or R
