  • Standards & Compliance: Prepare specimen samples in strict accordance with CSA, ASTM, and ASME standards and customer requirements.
  • Programming & Controls: Utilize Manual G-Code (Haas Control) and Conversational Programming (Proto-Trak) for specialized setups.
  • Inspection & Quality Control: Measure and verify finished part conformance to strict tolerance standards using precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, and gauges).
  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Diagnose equipment issues and perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize shop downtime.
  • Safety & Environment: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment under fast-paced, tight deadlines without compromising safety protocols.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Certified Journeyperson holding a valid, recognized credential.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience operating conventional/manual machines.
  • Technical Literacy: Strong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, cutting tools, and material properties.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform standard machining duties, including standing for extended periods and lifting raw materials.
  • Professional Attributes: Problem-solving mindset • Strong time management • Continuous improvement focus • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Assets

  • Background or experience working within a material testing environment.
  • CNC experience, specifically with Haas, Makino, Proto-Trak, or EDM Wire technology.
