Job Description
We are looking for a friendly and organized Retail Shop Assistant to join our team in Cork, Ireland. In this customer-focused role, you will be the face of our store, providing exceptional service to our customers while maintaining a well-organized and welcoming shopping environment. You will work collaboratively with your team to ensure smooth daily operations and contribute to a positive customer experience.
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products and making purchasing decisions
- Process customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Handle cash, card payments, and other payment methods with accuracy and integrity
- Stock shelves and displays with merchandise, ensuring products are organized and clearly priced
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal throughout your shift
- Develop and demonstrate product knowledge to answer customer questions and provide recommendations
- Support team members in achieving store goals and maintaining a positive work environment
- Monitor inventory levels and report stock shortages to management
- Follow company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines
- Assist with store opening and closing procedures as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven customer service experience in a retail or similar environment
- Experience handling cash and operating point-of-sale systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and stock merchandise regularly
- Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Preferred: Previous retail experience in a similar store setting
