TL;DR - We’re looking for a hands-on research and engineering leader to get the best performance out of commercial and open source frontier models, in order to power the future of AI software engineering. You’ll own experiments end-to-end—from dataset design to model alignment and performance optimization. Must be curious, experimental, and obsessed with squeezing the most out of models.ae

Why Lovable?

Lovable is the software creation platform that gives people the power to act on the problems closest to them. For decades, turning an idea into software required so much capital, technical fluency, and time that many ideas never came to life. Lovable is the counterargument: a platform for all people with ideas, ambition, and problems worth solving. From solopreneurs to small business owners to teams at companies like Adidas and Zendesk, people have built over 60 million projects on Lovable since its launch in November 2024. And we’re just getting started.

We’re building a generational company from Stockholm, with growing teams in London, Boston, New York, and San Francisco. Our team is small, talent-dense, and moving quickly, with a culture rooted in extreme ownership, high velocity, and low-ego collaboration. We look for people who care deeply, ship fast, and are eager to make a dent in the world.

Lovable is one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies and has been recognized on the Forbes AI 50 and CNBC Disruptor 50, reflecting our momentum as one of Europe’s fastest-growing AI companies and one of the most ambitious places to build in this next era of software.

What we’re looking for

  • Led or contributed to cutting-edge LLM research at top AI labs

  • Fine-tuned large-scale transformer models on datasets including code, natural language, and multimodal inputs`

  • Developed state-of-the-art models for code generation

  • Designed high-quality experiments and have strong sense for effective evaluation

  • A natural leader obsessed with building the best technical team in the world

  • Mentored team of researchers / engineers, and led collaborative projects across research, engineering, and product teams

  • Bonus: Published at top ML/AI conferences on LLMs, code intelligence, or agentic reasoning

What you’ll do

In one sentence: Build the most powerful ensemble of LLMs into lovable products.

  • Design and execute experiments grounded in real coding and product use cases

  • Define, track and optimize product-centric LLM performance metrics

  • Partner with engineering leads to hire and hone a world-class team

  • Own training pipelines, distillation workflows, and synthetic data generation systems

  • Work closely with infra and product engineers to scale and ship model improvements

Our tech stack

We're building with tools that both humans and AI love:

  • Frontend: React for lightning-fast interfaces

  • Backend: Golang and Rust for serious performance

  • Cloud: Cloudflare, Google Cloud Run, AWS, Terraform

  • DevOps & Tooling: CI/CD pipelines, observability, infra-as-code

And always on the lookout for what's next!

How we hire

  1. Fill in a short form then jump on an intro call with the team.

  2. Complete the take-home exercise

  3. Show us how you approach problems during two technical interviews

  4. Join us for trial work lasting 2 days preferably on-site. We'll see how you tick and you get to meet the team and explore whether joining Lovable feels right for you.

About your application

  • Please submit your application in English - it’s our company language so you’ll be speaking lots of it if you join

  • We treat all candidates equally - if you’re interested please apply through our careers portal
