Gopuff is seeking a Fresh Grocery Process Lead for our Operations team. Reporting to the Site Leader or Manager, you'll be a core part of the leadership team, responsible for getting fresh product received, picked, packed and loaded onto delivery trucks accurately, safely and on time. During your shift, you'll lead the performance and day-to-day work of the Fresh Grocery Operations Associates on both the inbound and outbound sides. The team's success relies on your ability to coach and motivate associates, with a focus on freshness, food safety and on-time truck departures. We put our customers first.
Customers turn to Gopuff to deliver their everyday essentials—day and night, rain or shine—and more and more of that is fresh: produce, meat, dairy, deli and frozen. We're assembling a team of thinkers, dreamers and risk takers who are ready to help us reshape the world of retail faster than ever before. And it doesn't hurt if you like snacks.
Responsibilities:
-
Quarterback and direct all associate activities across receiving, picking, packing and truck loading during the shift
-
Assign labor across inbound and outbound to hit receiving windows and truck departure times
-
Escalate site issues in real time to Site Leadership, Regional Leadership and Live Monitoring
-
Ensure completion of open/close checklists for the OA team, and set up the next shift to succeed
-
Develop and train new associates on fresh receiving, cold chain, pick/pack and loading standards (if/when Site Leadership is unable to be on shift)
-
Support the team in path during coverage gaps, including use of carts, pallet jacks, dollies and other equipment
-
Oversee unloading and receiving of fresh, refrigerated and frozen deliveries against the PO/invoice, and resolve discrepancies with vendors
-
Make the call on rejecting or accepting product that fails temperature, quality, damage or code-date checks
-
Keep the cold chain intact from dock to cooler or freezer, with minimal dwell time on the dock
-
Enforce FIFO/FEFO rotation and correct put-away by temperature zone
-
Receive inbound product and complete ICQA during low-volume or minimum-staffed periods
-
Plan and sequence picking and packing so every route is staged and ready before its truck departs
-
Ensure orders are packed by temperature zone with the correct totes, liners, insulation and ice packs or dry ice
-
Oversee staging, load building and truck loading by route, and verify load accuracy before departure
-
Coordinate with drivers and carriers on arrival, loading and departure times, and manage late or missed trucks
-
Pick and pack orders during low-volume or minimum-staffed periods
-
Manage returns and unloaded product, deciding what is re-shelved or disposed of per food safety rules
-
Own food safety and sanitation standards on shift, including temperature logs for coolers, freezers and trucks
-
Conduct damage and expiry process audits, and lead shrink reduction on fresh product
-
Run shelf moves for reorganization and backstock in cooler, freezer and ambient areas
-
Execute site projects and initiatives, including audit counts, new hire onboarding, and food safety and cleanliness audits
-
Assist in meeting performance objectives, including labor management, receiving accuracy, pick and pack accuracy, on-time truck departures, inventory accuracy, shrink and bottlenecks
-
Troubleshoot and root-cause defects within the shift, such as mispacks, temperature excursions, short loads and late departures
-
Work in cooler and freezer environments for extended periods throughout shifts
-
Stand, push, pull, squat, bend, reach and walk during shifts
-
