About Vercel:

Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.

Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.

About the role

As a Senior Technical Account Manager, you’ll be the named technical owner for the mission-critical workload that anchors a strategic enterprise customer’s Vercel relationship, across a portfolio of concurrent accounts. You’ll work as a peer to customers’ VPs of Engineering and CTOs, take over the post-sales technical relationship from the Solutions Architect through a structured handover, and coordinate every Vercel team on the account, including Support, Engineering, Product, and Sales. Customers buy this engagement, so success is measured by renewal: your proactive architecture and cost work should be worth more than what the customer pays for it. The role has no on-call rotation, no production code, and no sales quota. This is a hybrid role with 3 in-office days per week in San Francisco, New York City, or Austin.

What you’ll do

  • Own the post-sales technical relationship for a portfolio of enterprise accounts, running weekly calls, monthly and quarterly business reviews, and an annual roadmap workshop
  • Co-own each account with the Account Executive: you own the technical relationship and the technical case for renewal
  • Take ownership of escalated incidents and recurring patterns, driving post-mortems, root-cause analysis, and remediation roadmaps, and respond to P1 and P2 escalations within 4 business hours
  • Run proactive architecture reviews, technical risk mapping, cost and usage optimization, and pre-launch readiness assessments
  • Scope and coordinate Forward Deployed Engineering, audits, workshops, and Professional Services projects on your accounts, and relay customer needs to Product and Engineering

What you need

  • 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role at a platform, infrastructure, or developer tools company (TAM, Solutions Architect, Developer Success, Field Engineer, or technical consultant), owning strategic customer relationships including QBRs and renewals
  • Ran a technical platform at scale in a customer-facing role, with fluency in CI/CD pipelines, preview environments, release mechanics, and cost and performance patterns
  • Production architecture experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Ramped quickly on an unfamiliar technical product and earned customer trust
  • Can write a one-page executive summary of a complex technical situation for customer leadership
  • Willing to travel 4 to 8 times per year to customer offices, generally in-region

Bonus if you

  • Worked as a Technical Account Manager at a hyperscaler, infrastructure platform, or developer tools company
  • Built AI agents with the Vercel AI SDK, MCP servers, or similar frameworks
  • Run an annual roadmap workshop or Well-Architected Review-style engagement with an enterprise customer

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $163,000-$204,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role. Your recruiter can share more details during the hiring process.
