At Sword, we’re building AI to heal billions and unlock humanity’s full potential. In doing so, we’re pioneering AI Care, a fundamentally new approach to healthcare built for medical reasoning, safety, and real-time treatment, not generic technology applied after the fact. As both a clinical-centric frontier AI lab and an applied AI platform, Sword is reimagining how care is delivered at scale, removing traditional barriers like appointments, waiting rooms, and stigma so more people can access the care they need—and ultimately get back to lives lived in full.
Since 2020, Sword has expanded across physical therapy, women’s health, cardiometabolic, and mental health, and is now moving beyond the session to a fully AI-native, 24/7 care program that brings physical activity, therapeutic exercise, psychotherapy, nutrition, and behavior change into one connected experience. More than 700,000 members across three continents have completed over 10 million AI sessions, helping 1,000+ enterprise clients avoid more than $1 billion in unnecessary healthcare costs. Backed by 42 clinical studies, 44+ patents, and more than $500 million raised from leading investors including Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, and Founders Fund, Sword is defining a new standard for healthcare.
AI Proficiency at Sword
AI fluency is a core expectation at Sword. Every candidate is assessed against our three-level framework — be ready to share real examples of how AI is already part of how you work.
-
Explorer (Level 1) — Uses AI daily to boost personal productivity
-
Builder (Level 2) — Creates workflows and tools that elevate the whole team
-
Integrator (Level 3) — Embeds AI into products and processes at scale
Every hire must demonstrate at least Level 1. The expected level will vary depending on the seniority of the role.
Role
As a QA Analyst on the Mind team, you won't just validate what's built — you'll help shape what gets built. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Design, AI and Clinical teams, you'll be involved throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from feature discovery and definition to testing and release.
Mind combines AI-driven interactions, clinical logic and personalized care experiences, making quality, safety and usability essential. We're looking for someone with a strong analytical mindset, technical curiosity and the ability to understand how software works under the hood.
You'll help us build a proactive, shift-left quality culture, identifying potential issues early and ensuring we deliver reliable, safe and effective AI-powered healthcare experiences.
To get to know more about our Tech Stack, check here.
What you’ll be doing
- Collaborate early: Participate in product discovery, requirements definition and feature design, helping identify potential issues before development begins.
- Define quality: Translate product requirements into acceptance criteria, test scenarios and quality expectations.
- Own testing activities: Design, execute and maintain test plans covering functional, regression, integration and end-to-end testing.
- Work across the stack: Test mobile applications, backend services, APIs and AI-powered functionalities, leveraging your technical knowledge to investigate issues.
- Drive defect management: Identify, document and track defects through resolution, collaborating closely with engineers.
- Improve quality practices: Contribute to QA processes, documentation and test automation, identifying opportunities to improve testing efficiency and prevent issues.
What you need to have
- 1–2 years of experience in QA, software testing or software development with hands-on testing responsibilities.
- Experience designing, executing and documenting test cases and test scenarios.
- Basic to intermediate programming knowledge and the ability to read and understand code.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
What would make you stand out
- Academic or professional background in Psychology, Mental Health or related fields.
- Genuine interest in mental health, behavioural science and digital healthcare.
- Personal or professional AI projects that can be demonstrated, such as AI-powered applications, LLM integrations or AI-driven workflows.
- Knowledge of APIs, HTTP requests and tools such as Postman.
- Hands-on experience with test automation and tools such as Jira, Git and Android Studio.
- Understanding of healthcare products, clinical workflows or safety-critical software.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve development, testing or team workflows.
