Every day, tens of millions of people come to Roblox to explore, create, play, learn, and connect with friends in 3D immersive digital experiences– all created by our global community of developers and creators.
At Roblox, we’re building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience that they can imagine to life. Our vision is to reimagine the way people come together, from anywhere in the world, and on any device. We’re on a mission to connect a billion people with optimism and civility, and looking for amazing talent to help us get there.
A career at Roblox means you’ll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone.
As a full stack Senior Software Engineer you'll help build Global Actions: the systems that make core actions work consistently across every surface and platform on Roblox. Your first focus will be the Affinity System, which powers how people save and organize the things they care about on Roblox: a unified affinity system covering Saves, Collections, and Wishlists, replacing today's fragmented Favorites experience. You'll work across the stack, from backend APIs and data models to cross-platform React based UI solutions.
You Will
- Design and build the backend APIs and services, covering collections, items, pagination, and batching, that power Saves, Collections, and Wishlists
- Lead the migration from Favorites to Saved without losing user data, across web, mobile, desktop, console, and VR
- Build user facing surfaces, including the Saved Library and Collections pages, in partnership with Product and Design
- Design for privacy and safety, so users only see content and Collections they're allowed to view
- Extend the system to new entity types as the platform grows
You Have
- 3+ years of experience building full-stack systems, including backend, APIs, and frontend applications at scale.
- Experience with React, TypeScript/JavaScript or similar
- Experience with data modeling for systems with complex relationships, such as privacy and visibility rules
You Are
- Systems thinker: strong understanding of client server architecture, data modeling, and API design at scale.
- Analytical: tackles ambiguous problems, like moderation, eligibility, and migration edge cases, systematically.
- Collaborative: thrives in cross functional environments and enjoys mentoring.
