Working closely with mentors and product, design, data, and engineers, you’ll learn how large‑scale systems operate and play a meaningful role in building new technologies, features, and tools. Expect real projects, supportive teammates, and plenty of opportunities to explore ideas that make a difference for our teams and Pinners.
What you’ll do:
- Complete assigned technical projects with attention to quality, incorporating feedback from your mentor, manager and peers
- Execute scoped technical tasks end-to-end that contribute to Pinterest products and infrastructure
- Deliver code that is well-documented, tested, and operable
- Share ideas, questions and perspectives clearly and respectfully while learning from feedback
- Build technical and professional skills through learning and development opportunities
- Collaborate with your team and contribute to production-oriented projects that support Pinterest’s goals
- Leverage opportunities to connect with leaders and colleagues across Pinterest and participate in intern program events
- Foundational exposure to AI concepts or AI-assisted software development through coursework, projects, internships or practical experience
- Interest in learning how to use AI-powered technologies responsibly to improve product development, while validating outputs through testing, review and engineering judgment
What we’re looking for:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field, with an expected graduation date by June 2028.
- Demonstrated understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
- Experience programming in one or more languages such as Java, Python, Go or C++.
- Familiarity with backend development concepts, such as building services or APIs, working with data storage and writing reliable, maintainable code.
- Demonstrated work building server-side applications, services or APIs through coursework, internships, hackathons, personal projects, open-source contributions, volunteer work or similar technical work.
- Ability using AI to accelerate engineering work while applying judgment to validate accuracy, protect security and know when to ask for help.
- Interest in solving complex technical problems and learning in a collaborative engineering environment.
In-Office Requirement:
- This onsite internship will be based in our Zurich office requiring a few days in office. Our program will run in a full-time capacity during typical business hours between Monday-Friday.
